Hello everyone. This is new to me so here goes. This is my very favorite
recipe that was given to me by a friend of my mother's. I'm from
Kentucky so thats the name here.
KENTUCKY COLESLAW
3 medium heads of cabbage, shredded
3 large carrots, shredded
2 large green bell peppers chopped
4 stalks of chopped celery
3 cups of sugar
1-1/2 cups of white vinegar
1-1/2 tsp salt
1-1/2 tbsp celery seeds
1-1/2 tsp mustard seeds
Combine cabbages, carrots, peppers, celery in
large bowl.
Combine in saucepan, sugar vinegar and salt,
and bring to a boil, and boil for 2-3 minutes.
Cool. Stir in celery seeds and mustard seeds.
Pour over vegetables, stirring well. Cover and
refrigerate for 24 hours. Makes 5-6 quarts of
coleslaw. This stores for several weeks. _________________ Spoiling Grand Kids Is What I Do Best! |
